Welcome To The Frankenmuth Aeromodelers!

A world of radio-control flight awaits you at the Frankenmuth Aeromodelers.

We have a large airfield where one can fly just about any type of model aircraft. Our members go out of our way to help new pilots learn to fly, and make all pilots in the club and visiting us feel right at home.

Our flying field is well-maintained and ready for you to fly. We also have an enclosed canopy to provide shade for all, especially when it’s too hot out.

We have our club meetings every first Tuesday of the month, and we always welcome new people to join. Check our on the right side of this page as it’s updated frequently.

We usually have flying on Tuesday nights during the summer, but flying takes place often during other parts of the week and weekend.

We also offer free training for new pilots using buddy box transmitters and cords. What this does is allow the teacher to help the new pilot learn the basics of flying, such as turns, basic aerobatics, and takeoffs and landings. The instructor helps get the plane in the air, and then turns the plane over to the pilot to learn basic flight. If the trainee gets in any trouble, the instructor takes the plane over again. These are meant to help new pilots build their confidence and become safe pilots.

We often host events such as fun-fly’s, pylon races, and more. Check the event’s listing to the right of this page often as it changes frequently.

We are an Academy of Model Aeronautics registered facility, and require AMA membership and pilot registration with the Federal Aviation Administration to use our facility.

Safety is a major emphasis at our club, and we follow, and insist our members and other pilots at our facility, the AMA Safety Code.

There is close access to many attractions in Frankenmuth and Birch Run, as well as places to eat and shop. There are also many places to stay nearby for those visiting the area.
